چکیده

Abstract In this study, hydrodynamics and heat transport during the impact of single multiple drops onto a hot wall are studied numerically. The transfer in vicinity three-phase contact line, where solid, liquid vapour meet, contributes significantly to global transfer. microscale processes region line analysed using lubrication approximation. results form correlations integrated into an overall model. impingement on macro scale is simulated numerical model developed within OpenFOAM library. influence dimensionless parameters, i.e., Reynolds, Weber, Bond, Prandtl Jakob numbers, as well pressure, phenomena discussed. analysis drop frequency substrate thickness vertical coalescence spacing horizontal surface complete study. contribute better understanding complex mechanisms spray cooling.

Evaporation and Explosion of Liquid Drops on a Heated Surface

The literature pertinent to various aspects of drop evaporation on a heated surface is reviewed. Both the laser shadowgraphic and direct photographic methods are employed to study thermal stability and flow structures in evaporating drops in all heating regimes. It is revealed that four flow regions exist in stable and unstable type drops at low liquid-film type vaporization regime. As the surf...

Numerical Investigation of Heat Transfer Performance of Synthetic Jet Impingement onto Dimpled/protrusioned Surface

Dynamic mesh methods and user defined functions are adopted and the shear stress transport k-ω turbulent model has been used in the numerical investigation of heat transfer performance of synthetic jet impingement onto dimple/protrusioned surface. The results show that the local time-averaged Nusselt number of the dimpled/protrusioned target surface tends to be much closer with that of flat cas...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

numerical simulation of turbulent flow and heat transfer in a b-type section pipe with porous bottom wall

in this work, three-dimensional turbulent forced convection flow through a b-type section pipe, which porous material inserted at the bottom wall, is investigated numerically. the b-type section pipe are used in cooling systems, such as cars’ radiators. the main purpose of this research is to enhance heat transfer and to reduce the scales of such systems. the governing equations are formulated ...
